Nomads of Iran

In the past the nomads in Iran were as heroes (in the country’s constitutional revolution, in the Second World War). We’ll have a journey to the high and cool regions of Iran in the summer heat. We’ll discover the environment nature of great tribes like Qashqai, Bakhtiari, and Shahsavan and find out their traditions and cultural components.

Day 1. Arrival at Isfahan, staying at a hotel in Isfahan

The Iranian cultural capital welcomes you first. The guide transfers you from the airport to the hotel.

Day 2. Isfahan city tour, staying at a hotel in Isfahan (HB)

In the morning, we will visit the Imam Mosque, Āli Qāpu palace, Sheikh Lotfollah Mosque and bazaar in Imam square (Naqsh-e Jahan Square) which is the masterpiece of Safavid era in Iran. After lunch, in the evening, we will go for a walk in the Armenians neighborhood known as Jolfa and visit Vank Cathedral and then we will continue our walking path on the Khaju Bridge and Si-o-se-pol.

Day 3. Moving to Shiraz (500 KM), staying at a hotel in Shiraz (HB)

On this day we can compare the Islamic civilization with the Achaemenid era. We’ll step in Pasargad, the first capital of the great Achaemenid Empire and visit the tomb of the Great Cyrus. After that 2500-year-old dreaming capital known as Persepolis will be waiting for us. We will continue our journey to Shiraz and stayat a hotel in Shiraz.

Day 4. Shiraz city tour, staying at a hotel in Shiraz (HB)

Cultural heritage of Shiraz is related to Zandiyeh and Qajariyeh periods that we’ll visit the best architectural samples and mansions of these historical periods like Eram Persian Garden, Narenjestan e Ghavam house, Arg of Karim Khan, bazaar and Nasir al-Molk mosque (Pink mosque). On this day before the sunset we’ll visit the Tomb of Hafez, the famous Persian poet.

Day 5. heading to Yasuj (by car), camping on Zagros mountains (FB)

On our path today, we will have a tranquil mountain climbing amongst the Zagros Oak trees with the view of a beautiful waterfall. After meeting with Qashqai tribes who are of the most and the biggest tribes in the south of Iran, we will camp near them and somehow experience their lifestyle.

Day 6. heading to Si-sakht (by car), camping on the slopes of Dena Mount (260 KM) (FB)

Continuing our journey, we’ll pass from Yasuj, the natural capital of Iran and after mountain climbing in pristine nature. We’ll see villages around the Si-sakht and reach to another populated center of Qashqai tribesmen and we’ll camp at the slope of Dena summit (the highest summit of Zagros).

Day 7. Moving to Broujen, staying at a hotel in Broujen (210 KM) (HB)

We’ll enjoy the last seconds of being with Qashqai tribesmen and then go to Lurs area. On this day we will have enough time to rest in the hotel.

Day 8. Heading to Zardkooh, camping on Koohrang (160 KM) (FB)

Today, we will become familiar with Bakhtiari tribes’ traditions in the Chelgerd area and pitch our tents beside them after mountain climbing in the slope of the summit of Zardkuh (the second-high summit of Zagros region). We’ll also visit the Icy Cave.

Day 9. Visiting the old Bakhtiarian villages, camping in the oak forest (FB)

We will step in an outrageous way to look at hardworking people at the heart of high mountains of Zagros and will observe difficult circumstances of life in these areas. In the end, after walking amongst the village. We’ll camp the night.

Day 10. Walking and visiting the Ab-e-Sefid waterfall, staying at a hotel in Broujerd (260 KM) (HB)

In the morning, after a short mountain climbing around our place in the camp, we’ll go to Ab-e-sefid waterfall and finally, after our 2-day adventuring among Bakhtiari tribesmen we’ll go to Broujerd for a rest at the hotel.

Day 11. Visiting the Ali-Sadr Cave, staying at a hotel in the Zanjan (470 KM) (HB)

Crossing Hamadan, we will visit Ali-Sadr Cave, an underground lake with multiple stalagmites and continue the day by going toward Zanjan.

Day 12. Traveling to Ardabil, camping in Sabalan Slopes (310 KM) (FB)

Today, we’ll go to the Turkish area of Iran and we will visit Sheikh Safi al-Din Khānegāh and Shrine Ensemble. After having lunch in the city of Ardabil, we’ll continue our journey to visit and camp in Shahsavan and Sabalan foot hills.

Day 13. Going to the Caspian Sea, staying at a hotel in Anzali (240KM) (HB)

After having breakfast and saying goodbye to Shahsavan foothills, we’ll go to Astara through a beautiful road in an area known as Gardaneye Heyran and then to the Caspian Sea. We’ll stay the night in the hotel.

Day 14. Visiting Masouleh village and departing to Tehran (450KM) (HB)

In the morning, we will go to Masouleh village in the heart of Caspian Hyrcanian forests that recently has been inscribed on UNESCO World Heritage List, we’ll have a walk there. Then we’ll go to Tehran via Tehran-Rasht highway. We will spend the last night of our journey at the hotel.

Day 15. Flying to home
